This article explains how to transfer the configuration from a faulty box to a replacement box.
PREREQUISITES FOR CONFIGURATION TRANSFER :
- The RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) request has been approved and/or you received a new box.
- You are onsite with both boxes.
- The faulty box is powered on and is online (its status is green).
- From now on, do not edit the configuration of the faulty box
| If any prerequisite is not met, stop here and resolve it before continuing. |
STEP-BY-STEP TRANSFER PROCESS :
First, navigate to the settings of the defective box.
- In the left-hand menu, click on the "Organization" tab.
- Select your organization's name from the dropdown list.
- Go to the "Boxes" tab.
- Find the box in the list and click on the "Settings" icon next to it.
At the bottom left of the settings page, click on the "Swap box" button.
| TIPS If the "Swap box" button does not appear, it is possible that your box is not up to date (version 6.15.0 or later is required). In this case, please contact support@wattsense.com for assistance. |
Verify that all prerequisites are met and click on "I confirm, continue".
Next, select the serial number of the replacement box from the dropdown list and click "Next".
Review the information to ensure it is correct, then click "Confirm transfer".
Once the export is complete, you can safely unplug the faulty box and power on the replacement box. The replacement box will connect and begin updating. This process may take approximately ten minutes.
Then, proceed to the next step and wait until the import is finished.
You can now access the new box on the console. It will have adopted the name, license, and entire configuration of the faulty box.
Thanks to the LoRaWAN database transfer, the LoRaWAN sensors paired with the faulty box will automatically start communicating with the new box upon their next frame transmission.
