How to connect a LoRaWAN device to my Box – Wattsense Support Portal

This article will guide you through the installation of your Lorawan device.

First of all, please check this previous article about the LoRaWAN network, and it will help you prepare other installations.

You need to configure the Wattsense box before the sensor, otherwise the JOIN process will not succeed.

Step 1

Add your equipment by using our Configuration Wizard. (Configuration Tab / Equipment / Pick a decoded equipment)

NOTE
If your equipment is not available in our database, you can still connect your sensor. You'll have "undecoded" informations : Communication level (RSSI, SNR and Spreading Factor) and the Raw-Payload.

Step 2

Select your LoRaWAN device in the equipment list, then select the protocol (it will automatically choose LoRaWAN).

Step 3

Fill the DevEUI, AppEUI, Application Key, these information are given by the manufacturer.

- CodecID will be automatically filled.

Step 4

Select the properties you want to decode and then click on the Save button.

Step 5

Once it's done, you can click on "Save changes" in order to push the new configuration to the Tower/Bridge.

Your Lorawan sensor is now set up in the Box !

You can start the JOIN process of your device (each manufacturer has its own JOIN process, it's explained in the datasheet of the device itself).

You can check in the logs section if the JOIN process is successful. You will see these events :
