This article explains how to configure a Modbus IP gateway.

Purpose of the Modbus IP Gateway

The Modbus IP gateway is designed to act as a Server in a Modbus IP network.

Create a gateway in the Console

Step 1

First of all, you will need to create a new gateway

Step 2

Then set up the gateway information,

Important information: SlaveID needs to be unique in order to avoid conflict

Step 3

To add properties in your gateway, select the "Properties" button

Click on the "Add Property" button.

Once in the view, you will be able to select the properties you want to redirect, then click on Save.

Step 4

Here is the view of the gateway Modbus table

Property configuration :

By clicking on the modify button (on the property line) :

you will be able to have the details of your gateway property.

Be sure that your Modbus IP client configuration is matching these parameters.

Step 5

You can also download the Modbus table.

The Modbus table is mandatory in order for you to configure your Modbus IP client, with this table, you'll know how to access the data made available by the Tower/Bridge

The file is available in the default dowload directory :

It is a csv file (separator = ','). You can open it directly in Excel for example. (rename the file by adding the .txt extension: gateway_properties_configuration.csv.txt) and specify a comma as delimiter when opening the file in excel.
