How to configure LPB with a Siemens LMS controller and an OCI345 interface

This article explains how to configure LPB with a Siemens LMS controller and an OCI345 interface.

Hardware connection

Please connect the devices as shown on the picture below :

DB = Daten-Bus = polarity (+)
MB = Masse-Bus = polarity (-)

Set up configuration

Segment and Device Number

In the wattsense console, in the LPB section, you must enter the Segment and Device Number of the controller :

In order to obtain this information, you will have to follow the following steps :

On the controller interface, go to the LPB menu :

1 - Press one time on the “OK” button

2 - Press and hold down (3 seconds) the “i” key

3 - Select the menu Specialist / LPB Confguration with the rotary knob.

In this menu, you will have access to all the parameters of the LPB system, including the device and segment address as well as the bus power function.

Use this menu to retreive the needed information :

Bus power supply function

Check that this parameter is assigned to Automatic.

You can check the output voltage with a voltmeter on the LPB Bus. You should measure 16V.

You can perform the measurement directly on the Wattsense box (LPB connector) once the box is connected to the controller.
